Love it they're food is great and filling and they are the only place I've found after 14 years in Missouri that has flavor bust ice cream!

Everyone was masked, they required masks from patrons. My server was very friendly and efficient. Although I requested a specialized order, they rapidly made it exactly to my specification.

They always have the nicest staff at this location. In and out never a long wait. Food is always hot and fresh.

This place is great you can always depend on the food being the same, and just as you've always remembered it.

5 stars if the onion rings were battered instead of breaded. But that's just me. The rings are still good. Thursday is buy a jr double cheese, which is big, and regular menu item regular price, get a free any size drink. Cherry coke for me, cherry syrup, very rich, super tasty, free refill. Look forward to Thursdays here, great stuff

Always 5 star. Whenever we go to KC/Independence, we make it a point to get to HiBoy!

As always the food is good. We have been ordering from this location and the one on 24 and river. However, I will have to cease going here until the pandemic is over or a vaccine is found as none of the staff up front were gloved or masked. Same at the other location. If you value your customers you should take precautions. It's the responsible thing to do. We cant walk around in a bubble but we dont have to take un necessary chances either.

Great burgers, fantastic tots and the shakes are thick and creamy. Can’t ask better. Local staple that’s been around for generations.

This is my 2nd patronizing this location. 1st, I don't understand how its not registering to food industry workers that you do not want ketchup, napkins or the such placed on top of the food thats obviously going into your mouth. I had to stop the cashier and she seemed annoyed by me asking her not to do it. To top it off, I was in the mood for a greasy burger and onion rings, and it was not good. C'mon man.

Love me some Hi-Boy Burgers. Used to go for lunch during college at CMSU Ext on 24 Hwy near the Truman Library in Independence Missouri. They still taste the same. Price is different. It’s been many years. That was 1968-1970.

I was the only one concerned about spreading the virus. No one was masked up and only those handling food wore gloves. Patrons weren't wearing masks either. We're in a pandemic and I appreciate the store being open just be safe about things.

Best one and it's shame that isn't franchise it would have been successful spread all over America.. I'd love have this in Houston Texas.

Italian steak sandwiche was very good, tots were cooked perfectly.

This place is an Independence landmark close to the Truman Library. I had long heard of it but never ventured there, my mistake. I was in the neighborhood so I took the opportunity and I was not disappointed. The regular size tots were way more than enough and the perfect crispy, the double cheeseburger was huge, tasty and satisfying. I will definitely go back and try the pork tenderloin. It was busy and crowded for a Monday but the experienced crew kept the food moving.

Ok ok so I have to say for me Hi-Boy onion rings are the best anywhere. So a cheeseburger order of rings and a strawberry shake is a great cheater meal.

A little expensive but my oh my, it was good. Had the double cheeseburger with onion rings and a peanut butter fudge shake. I was full until the next night! I would go here again if I needed a simple but filling meal.

Hi-Boy has been one of my favorite fast food stops for over 30 years. Anytime I go to Independence, there's a good chance that I am going to going to grab a cheeseburger onion rings from Hi-Boy. There's something deliciously unique about their food that I haven't been able to find anywhere else. I suspect it's the flavor of nostalgia and happy memories. If you're a fan of thick milkshakes, dont forget to get one of those too!

The onion rings are the best in the city, love them with a little mustard. Jr Double Cheeseburger is my favorite burger option here. And their shakes are all delicious, but thick, it'll take a while for you to be able to use the straw to drink it, so use a spoon!

They were a little pricey the food was good and only had to wait just a few minutes, but the building was old and seemed outdated. Even though I would still recommend lunch at this place because the quality of the food was okay

Good cheeseburger since I was a child over 20 years

Just another fan of Hi Boy. We are remodeling a friends house and that’s why I was in Independence a lot these past few weeks. Stopped for lunch once, delish. Had to stop again. Right on. Intend to visit whenever I am around. Fab burgers, great staff, fast as fast food but 100x better. No seating. Grab n go baby!!!
